Fort Belvedere Open Day
In Aid of The League of Friends of Heatherwood Hospital
In May 1962 the League of Friends President The Honourable Gerald Lascelles and Mrs Lascelles kindly gave permission for the public to view the grounds at Fort Belvedere.
Fort Belvedere became famous during the 1930's as the home of the Duke of Windsor until his abdication in 1936. Built in 1755 it's steeped in local history. Located at Sunningdale.
An information leaflet was produced for the occasion. We have re-created below the original A5 leaflet.
Over 2000 people attended the grounds and £328 was raised for the chapel building fund.
