A Step Back In Time

Welcome to Heatherwood in picture. The following pages carries some more recent photo's of Heatherwood Hospital. On a warm October Sunday morning I took the opportunity to walk round the site and capture the current views of the buildings and site.

Where possible we have detailed some information about the pictures.
This is just a snapshot of the hospital in 2005.

Gardens

The garden areas around the site offer a pleasant outlook and a chance to sit and reflect. The centre green between the wards at the back of ward 1 and 3 is diminishing in size as new wards and buildings encroach on this area. The new garden layout opposite the restaurant looks stunning when the flowers are out. Each year a number of hanging baskets are placed around the walkways.

The original garden court with the sunken garden still remains and still appeals to the senses.

2007

In 2007 after the removal of the old ward 9 the ground area was landscaped and a seating area provided.
