A Step Back In Time
Welcome to Heatherwood in picture. The following pages carries some more recent photo's of Heatherwood Hospital. On a warm October Sunday morning I took the opportunity to walk round the site and capture the current views of the buildings and site.
Where possible we have detailed some information about the pictures.
This is just a snapshot of the hospital in 2005.
Wards
In the last ten years there has been substantial changes to the use of the wards plus renovations and additions. The pleasant outlook from the veranda's of wards 1,2, or 3 have been obscured by the additions of wards 1G and 16.
The centre green in earlier years was the focal point for the annual fete's. The development of the site has left very little of the original space.
2009
Ward 5 has been converted to urology clinic, medical assessment ward has closed along with ward 16, Ward 10, Ward 7G formerly Gynae has also closed.
2011
Ward 4 is moved to ward 10 and renamed ward 4 elective orthopaedic surgery.
