Gift Presentations 2006

The League of Friends presented the hospital with a Cheque for £48,000 in December 2005. The league decided additional support was required and a special allocation was created for the funding of Ward 10 improvements.

On Saturday 15th July chairman of the trust Mrs Ruth Watts Davies welcomed members of the league and the trust to the official opening of the discharge lounge and cardiac monitoring unit on ward 10.

The discharge lounge was dedicated to the Memory of Marion and John Rathbone. Marion along with her husband John had worked for the league for over 30 years.

The lounge and garden area of ward 10 offers a pleasant environment for patients who are being discharged from the hospital. In addition to the lounge, items of cardiac monitoring equipment were also purchased for ward 10 and a new area was dedicated by the trust.

In addition Wards & Departments were able to purchase the following items
